Good Morning Neighbour! ☕
The sun is out this chilly morning, and I couldn't ask for a better day to introduce this newsletter as your new morning cuppa companion.
Every Sunday morning, I will see you with local news, council updates and transport alerts, alongside a shout-out to someone from our community (starting next week).
In today's Good Morning Pinner:
→ Caffé Nero says goodbye
→ Red Route trial on Rayners Lane
→ Transport disruptions coming next weekend
Let’s dive in.
This Week in HA5
Caffé Nero says goodbye
Our beloved Caffé Nero on Love Lane closed its doors for good on Saturday 29 November. A member of staff mentioned the apartment building will be torn down for redevelopment, but I have not seen any other information on this. The staff will move on to other Caffé Nero locations within North West London. Quite sad to say goodbye to this place, and now I need to find another spot to meet friends. Send me some café suggestions, please?
But more HMOs are coming to Harrow
A number of recent planning applications submitted to the council indicate several HMOs are likely to come up across Harrow, as reported by Harrow Online. A House with Multiple Occupation (HMO) is a residential property shared among three or more unrelated people. All applications are currently shown as "pending consideration" on the council's planning portal.

Civil News
Red Route trial live on Rayners Lane
The Rayners Lane red route trial started on Monday 24 November and will last six months. Yes, this means no more stopping on the double red line sections at any time, unless you see clearly marked bays. But not to worry, there are new 5 minute drop off bays near the station, along with motorcycle and loading bays for businesses on the street. Not following the restrictions comes with a £140 fine. Cllr David Ashton, Cabinet Member for Finance and Highways, has encouraged residents and businesses to respond to the consultation by 26 May 2026, and suggested the changes could be made permanent if the trial is successful. This is expected to help with double parking issues which have plagued Rayners Lane businesses and drivers alike.
