Good Morning Neighbour! ☕
The election results are in, the Piccadilly line is doing upgrade-work gymnastics, and June is starting to wave at us from the diary like it has plans.
In today's Good Morning Pinner:
Harrow's local election results have been published, with Conservatives holding the council
The Piccadilly line has a major part-closure today, so check before heading that way
Pinner Music Festival tickets and programme details are worth checking before June sneaks up
Let’s dive in.

This Week in HA5
The big local story is not a mystery: Harrow voted, the count happened, and the council map is now filled in for the next four years.
Harrow's local election results are now published. Conservatives have held control of Harrow Council. Locally, Pinner, Pinner South and Hatch End all returned Conservative councillors. See the results
Piccadilly line reminder for today, Sunday 10 May: TfL lists a part-closure from Friday 8 May Night Tube to Sunday 10 May between Cockfosters and Heathrow. If your Sunday plan involves Heathrow, Acton, or the Piccadilly line generally, check before you leave and allow extra time. TfL Piccadilly upgrade details
Pinner Music Festival is the useful one to book ahead. The 60th festival runs from 8 to 15 June at Pinner Parish Church, raising funds for the church organ restoration. A diary nudge now saves a "wait, that was this week?" moment later. Programme

Local Business News
Alexandra's Pizzeria on Cannon Lane has received a 5-star food hygiene rating. A small but very welcome local business win, especially for anyone whose dinner plan occasionally begins with "shall we just get pizza?" FSA listing

Community Corner
Baby Bank donations are still a useful callout. If you have clean baby items in good condition that could help another local family, this is your nudge to sort the cupboard before it becomes a museum of tiny socks.
Walking to Wellness is worth another mention. The free six-week walking programme at Harrow Viewpoint is aimed at confidence, balance and strength, with poles involved for the full "I am outdoors on purpose" effect.
Hatch End Station is looking for summer flower-display volunteers. Watering, planting, tidying and general station-brightening all count.
Got a half-term club, June fundraiser, school fair or local volunteer plea? Send it this way.
Transport
Piccadilly line today: Part closure today between Cockfosters and Heathrow as part of the upgrade works. If you are heading via the Piccadilly line today, plan around it rather than discovering it while holding a coffee and a suitcase. TfL Piccadilly upgrade details
Civic Updates
Harrow's 2026 local election results were published on Friday 8 May. The official results page has ward-by-ward links, so you can see exactly what happened where rather than relying on group-chat political analysis. Full results
Local ward snapshot: Pinner returned Paul Osborn, Kuha Kumaran and Norman Stevenson; Pinner South returned Christopher Baxter, Hitesh Karia and Janet Mote; Hatch End returned Matthew Goodwin-Freeman and Susan Hall.
Why it matters: councillors are the people who get the inboxes about bins, parking, planning, roads, parks, council tax and the thousand tiny frictions of borough life. Glamorous? Not always. Relevant? Very much.
Local Plan examination update: Harrow's Local Plan feedback window for examination participants closed on Friday 8 May. The next stage is one to keep half an eye on if planning policy is your particular brand of Sunday morning tea. Local Plan page
Pet of the Week
No pet entry this week, which means the nomination runway remains gloriously open.
Send one photo, their name, and the tiny domestic scandal they are most likely to cause this way. Chewed slippers, stolen chicken, suspiciously judgemental staring. All welcome.
Closing
Thank you for reading Good Morning Pinner today.
If you only do one local thing this week, have a look at the election results for your ward. If you only do one practical thing, check the Piccadilly line before setting off today.
See you next Sunday, same time, same place.
P.S. - If you found something useful, please share it with a neighbour!
