In today's Good Morning Pinner:
A Pinner favourite reopens its doors, and two new names land in Hatch End
Welcome Space gets its first Friday at Pinner Village Hall
Two tube lines are out west of Harrow today, so check before you head out
Let’s dive in.

This Week in HA5
The Welcome Space opens at Pinner Village Hall this Friday. A new free Friday afternoon drop-in for older neighbours and carers, from 2pm, with gentle activities, conversation and a proper cup of tea. Booking is helpful but not essential. A quietly good addition to the village hall diary, and exactly the sort of thing that earns its place by being quietly available every week. Sign-up form

Local Business News
Photoplace on Bridge Street in Pinner has reopened after a major refurb. The shop and printing studio was hit by a car back in September 2025 and has been quietly rebuilding the shopfront ever since. Now back open Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm and Saturday 10am to 4pm. A welcome bit of Bridge Street resilience. Photoplace, 10 Bridge Street, Pinner HA5 3JE
Veda is confirmed for the old Coriander site at 282 Uxbridge Road, Hatch End. The new Indian restaurant will lean heavily vegetarian and vegan, with Tandoori Paneer Tikka and Daal Makhani flagged as house specialties, plus a takeaway service. No opening date yet, but the venue is in. Worth keeping an eye on the frontage as work continues. Read the Harrow Online piece
Santomio is putting signage up at 369 Uxbridge Road, Hatch End. New spot with the strapline "Where Italy Meets Mexico", taking over the old K Furniture Company unit next to Papu-Miya. Council licensing for restaurant use has already been signed off. No confirmed opening date yet. Read the Harrow Online piece
Spotted a new opening, refurb, hygiene-rating change, local offer, or shopfront mystery? Hit reply and send it over. Bonus points if it involves a sign going up and half the high street quietly trying to work out what it means.

Transport
Two tube lines are out west of Harrow today. No Piccadilly between Hammersmith and Heathrow/Uxbridge today, and no Metropolitan between Harrow-on-the-Hill and Uxbridge. Worth a check before you travel, especially if today involves Heathrow, Uxbridge or anywhere on the western arm of the Met. TfL planned closures
Heads up for the back end of July. TfL has flagged Piccadilly line closures on Thursday 30 and Friday 31 July from Cockfosters to Uxbridge, plus Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 August from Cockfosters to Heathrow. The Metropolitan should keep running between Rayners Lane and Uxbridge during those works, so there is still a westbound option. Worth pencilling in now if your late-July plans lean west.
Civic Updates
No fresh civic update this week. A rare and beautiful admin silence.
Pet of the Week
This week's star is Holly, a rescue dog shared by Bob.

Say hi to Holly!
📸 Bob
Holly holds one of the best jobs in Pinner. Officially, she is the Junior Train Inspector at the Miniature Railway in Roxbourne Park, where her responsibilities include giving every locomotive a thorough pre-running sniff, welcoming families before public running hours, and being openly delighted by any attention offered. She takes the role seriously, mostly because it involves a lot of pats. If you spot her on duty at the railway, do say hello.
Want your pet to take the highly unofficial GMP crown next week? Hit reply with one photo, their name, and the tiny household role they have appointed themselves to.
Closing
Thank you for reading Good Morning Pinner today.
If you only do one sociable thing this week, drop into the Welcome Space on Friday afternoon and help make the first session feel properly welcomed. If you only do one tasty thing, start plotting your Hatch End opening crawl now that Veda and Santomio are confirmed. And if you only do one practical thing, plan around the missing Piccadilly and Met services before you head west this weekend.
Got a story, event, local win, or random neighbourhood question? Hit reply. I read every one.
See you next Sunday, same time, same place.
