Stardust Big Band plays Pinner Memorial Park this afternoon, 2:30pm. The second of four Sundays in the Pinner Association's summer concert series, with Nimesh Sanghoi singing Bollywood next Sunday and Simply Gray closing on 16 August. A Sunday Lion Dance school is running at Harrow Arts Centre through August. Six Sunday afternoon sessions for children aged 8 and above, teaching the basics of Lion Dance culture, footwork, drumming and rhythm. £48 for all six sessions, with a small showcase at the end. The Elemental Six Senses Retreat lands at Community Hall, Rickmansworth next Saturday. Meet the Lovely Humans
This week's lovely human is Danièle, founder of Creative Bloom Club, a Pinner-based subscription that sends a hand-made envelope of paper treasures and creative inspiration to your door each month.
"Hi, I'm Danièle. I launched Creative Bloom Club this summer after dreaming about creating something that encourages people to slow down and reconnect with their creativity. I've lived in Pinner for about 15 years now and absolutely love being part of such a supportive community."
The bit she secretly loves most: the messages people send when their envelopes arrive. Knowing that something she's designed has encouraged someone to make a cup of tea, sit down with a journal, or simply smile for a few minutes is, in her words, "incredibly special."
The best-kept secret regulars swear by: every month is completely different. Subscribers never know exactly what's coming, but every envelope includes a beautifully written letter, thoughtful paper treasures, creative inspiration and little surprises built around a new monthly theme. "It's like receiving happy mail from a friend."
When she's off-duty, you'll often find her walking around Pinner Memorial Park or grabbing a coffee in the High Street while dreaming up ideas for future envelopes. Some of her best ideas seem to arrive while she's out for a wander.
Creative Bloom Club was born from her own journey back to creativity after years of feeling too busy. Each month she hand-makes and packs every envelope here in Pinner before sending them all over the UK and beyond. If you've ever thought "I used to be creative" or "I wish I made more time for myself," she would love you to join.

Community Corner
Hatch End Station's flower displays need a few more hands through the summer. Friendly volunteers wanted to help with watering and tidying, with a flexible time commitment for anyone who lives nearby and has an hour to spare. A nice fit if you enjoy gardening and want to keep the platforms looking sharp for commuters and visitors alike.
Several over-60 friendship clubs around our patch are looking for new members. Reader-shared tip: groups meet weekly at local synagogues in Stanmore, Bushey, Edgware and Northwood, with music, speakers and trips for older neighbours who fancy more company. Bushey is at particular risk of closing on Mondays if more members don't come forward. Most clubs don't care about religious denomination, just respect for the venue.
Tudor Lunch Club in Eastcote has had a short reprieve from closing but still needs members and funding support. A quietly important resource for older neighbours in the area. Worth a mention to anyone you know who might fancy a warm lunch and good company during the week.

Civic Updates
A quiet week out of Harrow Council, with last week's Green Flag announcement (a record 10 for the borough) still landing in neighbourhood inboxes. The council's own messaging is, for once, taking its own advice about a quiet summer.
