Good Morning Neighbour! ☕
We had some wonderful snow earlier this week and the biting cold has eased for now. The jackets and winter hats are not going away anytime soon though. Community groups had several reports of people slipping on icy pavements, so stay safe when you are out and about.
In today’s Good Morning Pinner:
Increased drop-off charges at Gatwick Airport
Support group for Pinner women in business
How to keep your children busy this February
Let’s dive in.

This Week in HA5
Commuters from around Pinner were in for a longer than usual journey right at the start of the week, with the Met and Jubilee lines out of service at varying points in the morning. Some neighbours ultimately gave up and returned home as all services to Canary Wharf were shut! Disruptions eased towards the end of the week, although services were not fully back to normal at least until Saturday afternoon.
Drop-off charges to London Gatwick have increased to £10 on January 6. Blue badge holders remain exempt from the charge. A London Gatwick spokesperson said this was not a decision they took lightly, and attributed this to the doubled business rates, amongst other increasing costs.
A massive fire broke out on Wiltshire Lane, Eastcote on 2nd January. London Fire Brigade confirmed about 5 tonnes of mixed waste was destroyed. No injuries were reported.
Local Business News
The Whittington is collecting plastic sweet tubs (heroes, celebrations etc) to recycle and raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. Collections end on 15 January.
Sarah Drakard from Cruze Financial Solutions hosted a Pinner Women in Business meetup last week at The Whittington. In her words, "We had a great meeting. We also had two babies who joined their business mums at the event. There was a wide variety of businesses in the room - ranging from family lawyers to dog groomers. It was a friendly, supportive meeting and we all talked about our hopes and goals for 2026 and how we can support each other in doing that.”
The group meets second Thursday of each month. Looks like a no-brainer to join if you live or run a business in and around Pinner!

Meet the Lovely Humans
Say hello to the lovely human at Get A Drip Pinner
Gupinder Kaur Syan launched Get A Drip Pinner in May 2025, offering mobile IV drips and vitamin injections to support health and wellbeing across Pinner and nearby areas.

Gupinder from Get A Drip
“I love meeting people in their own spaces and being part of their wellness journey,” Gupinder says. “Helping someone feel more energised and supported is what makes this work meaningful.”
Her approach is rooted in consistency. “Wellbeing isn’t a quick fix, but something that builds over time when you invest in yourself,” she says.
When she’s off-duty, Gupinder enjoys a walk around Pinner Memorial Park or grabbing a coffee from Daisy’s in the Park.

Transport
The Met line has had a rough week (today included), but has no planned works for next week. They haven't promised anything about unplanned disruptions, so always a good idea to leave earlier.
No closures on the Jubilee line.
The Piccadilly line has a planned closure for next weekend (17 and 18 Jan). The Met line better work without problems (seriously).
Dog of the Week
(Something to cheer you up after reading about all the service disruptions.)

Say hi to Lenny!
PC - LNC Walk with Catherine
Lenny is a 4-year-old Cocker Spaniel with a truly larger than life personality. Incredibly smart, strikingly beautiful, and full of character, Lenny keeps everyone on their toes in the best way possible.
When Lenny first came to us, he was struggling with both people and dog reactivity. Through consistent private walks and close support with his mum, we worked carefully to help him build confidence, neutrality, and trust in the world around him.
Fast-forward to now, and Lenny is absolutely flying, confidently enjoying life, thriving in his environment, and running around with his very own pals. We couldn’t be prouder of how far he’s come.
