Good Morning Neighbour! ☕

This is a special week for Good Morning Pinner as we’ve just welcomed our 100th neighbour. Thank you for reading each week and for supporting GMP as it grows.

In today’s Good Morning Pinner:

  • Heathrow scraps the 100ml liquid rule

  • Postal vote registration reminder

  • Additional HMO Licensing Scheme consultation

Let’s dive in.

This Week in HA5

  • Heathrow scrapped the 100ml liquid rule recently. You can now carry up to two litres in total liquids when flying from Heathrow. But remember, you might still need to have 100ml bottles for your return journey because most other airports don't allow this yet.

  • Registrations for the 2026/27 garden waste annual service are now open. The Council has kept the prices frozen at £69 annually. Sign up here by 13 March 2026 for collections to begin in April.

Local Business News

  • Several women reached out after I mentioned the Pinner Women in Business meetup in a recent issue. The group meets on the second Thursday of each month. If you (or someone you know) are interested in joining, reply to this email and I will share the organiser's contact!

  • New local business: SoloGreen has recently launched in the area, offering solar PV, battery systems, heat pumps, and EV chargers. More details at sologreen.co.uk.

  • A new "Letting Agreed" sign has popped up on the former Costa Coffee spot on Marsh Road. I will keep you updated on what's coming there.

Why does Costa still have tables and chairs in there?!

Civic Updates

  • Harrow Council is consulting on whether to renew the Additional HMO Licensing Scheme for smaller shared homes in Harrow. This consultation affects landlords, tenants, and residents with an interest in local housing standards. The consultation runs until 27 February, share your views here.

Several new neighbours joined GMP since the last issue, so a few important reminders:

  • Elections across all Harrow wards take place on 7 May 2026. Make sure you have registered to vote. All postal voters who applied before 30 January 2024 must reapply by 31 January.

  • Round 2 of Harrow Council's Bringing Buildings Back to Life is underway. This aims to bring investment into disused buildings across the borough. If you are a business looking for a vacant or underused space to run community-focused activities, this is worth checking out. Apply before the round closes on 2 March.

Transport

TfL has joined GMP in the 100 subscriber celebrations and decided to skip disruptions on relevant lines until the end of next week. Good service expected throughout the week.

Dog of the Week

(Something to cheer you up even more after reading about the good service next week)

Say hi to Babs!
📸 Catherine from LNC Walks

This is the wonderful Babs, truly everyone’s best friend and a girl with a huge heart to match her personality. She is high energy, incredibly intelligent, and always brings so much joy to the group. Babs has so much love to give and approaches everything with enthusiasm. She has been working closely with us to refine her manners, build her calm, and develop a little more zen to balance out that big, happy energy. She has taken it all in her stride and continues to impress us.

To make this week even more special, it is also Babs’ birthday. Happy Birthday, beautiful girl. We are so lucky to have you as part of the LNC family.
